If you were at the BK Christmas dinner or the second seder, you know that Bnai Keshet supports refugees arriving in New Jersey for resettlement. In the next 10 days, seven new families will arrive in Jersey City and Elizabeth, bringing the total to 20-25 Syrian refugee families that have arrived in our area in the last year. Among them are many children of all ages and at the end of the month, BK will be running a school supply and electronics drive to assist them. Please donate any used electronics that still work - from computers to telephones (landlines) to tablets, and more. And, please dig deep and consider purchasing notebooks, pencils, pens, and other school supplies. Anything you would buy for your own child to prepare them for school is appropriate for a refugee child.
Hours of the drive:
Friday, August 26: 3-5 pm
Saturday, August 27: 1-3pm
Sunday, August 28: 10am-12 noon
Please drop off your contributions at the garage in back of Red Gables; someone will be on duty to assist.
