A Jewish Teen Nature & Environmental Exploration with Sababa

Join us for an immersive weekend exploring nature and environmental advocacy in Coco Beach, Florida with fellow Reconstructionist teens. We will learn from advocates about environmental activism and engage in hands-on volunteer work on Sunday and connect with nature through swimming, surfing,* and yoga. The trip will also focus on the mindfulness opportunities of Shabbat, celebrating on the beach and reflecting on ways we can build opportunities for rest and renewal into our lives in a more regular way. As always with our teen trips, we will also have time for group building, hanging out, hanging out in the town and in our hotel on the beach.

Students will leave early Friday morning, so public school students will only miss one day of school. They will return on Sunday evening.

*Sababa runs two Jewish surf camps. Their staff are expert surfers and they are organizing our surfing experiences through a local surf instructor. Students are encouraged to try surfing in this safe environment but there will be other activity options as well for those who don't want to get in the water.

$675 Fee + $450 Flight (or use frequent flyer miles for the flight)

The cost for the trip is $675 (includes all lodging, food, and transportation in Florida) plus the cost of airfare ($450). The total price is $1,125. Families are welcome to use frequent flyers miles to book travel separately as long as students take the same flights as the group, please be in touch with Rabbi Ariann to confirm flights. 

We are eager to have everyone who wishes to join us do so and there will be some scholarship money available.
