MEET OSI:  She is the mother to 3 beautiful sons, living in Ofakim, Israel, one of our Greater MetroWest partner cities in the Negev, where she was born.

A chef by heart and a social-entrepreneur by soul, Osi started her journey ten years ago when she participated in the Greater MetroWest Partnership "Women’s Ethnic Empowerment Group", known as the “Cooking Ladies”.  Participating in the project inspired Osi to start her own home-hospitality catering business offering her guest a taste of Israeli cuisine, influenced by her family Iraqi and Moroccan kitchens and the warm home hospitality she grew up with as a child.

2015 was a turning point in Israel, and also for Osi; experiencing the national difficulties during the military operation, Protective Edge, followed by the loss of her beloved father, just before Rosh-Hashanah. Her loss created the need to memorize, preserve and put in writing all the flavors, traditions, memories and love she cherished. Osi collected her stories and memories which have become ‘Israeli Home’; a cooking book containing a wide collection of secret, family recipes. Each recipe shares North African tradition's flavors & aromas using simple cooking techniques and easy-to-find ingredients.

Cookbooks will be on sale at the Federation of Greater MetroWest office.  To order your copy, please contact Stephanie Brand at
