Friday, January 24, 2014 • 23 Sh'vat 5774
8:00 PM - 9:30 PM"Sex-trafficking in Our Own Backyard" by Emily Rosenbaum
We will watch excerpts from "Sex & Money: A National Search for Human Worth," a feature-length documentary movie that follows a group of
photojournalists as they travel in an RV across the United States seeking to understand how the sexual exploitation of children has become the nation's fastest growing form of organized crime. In addition,Emily Rosenblum, an award-winning novelist (writing under the pseudonym ER Frank)and licensed clinical social worker in private practice with a specialty in trauma, will discuss an as yet unpublished novel that deals in sex trafficking. Over the course of her clinical career, Emily has worked with a handful of girls and women who were trafficked. She also volunteered weekly for close to two years at The Polaris Project, an organization in Newark that assists survivors of human trafficking. Emily will share her experiences with survivors of trafficking and possibly read an excerpt from her manuscript.
