Harvey Rich, father of BK member Steve Rich, died suddenly on April 14th in Poole, England, while spending Pesach with Evelyn, his wife of 54 years. He had recently celebrated his 80th birthday with a large family party.
He was trained as an actuary and worked in the insurance industry until his retirement in 2002. Always the prankster, Harvey had an impressive repertoire of corny jokes, party tricks, and funny contorted faces. People of all ages enjoyed his humor (or laughed politely), but it didn't matter, because he kept the jokes coming regardless. He was also an extremely kind, warm and friendly person who loved challenging his grandsons with math problems and logic puzzles. He will be sorely missed by his wife, Evelyn, and daughter Gillian, his son Steve and daughter in law, Aviva, and four grandsons, Michael, Adam, Jake, and Zach, as well as other family and friends all over the world.
The funeral service was today in England. Shiva will be held on Tuesday, April 25th beginning at 7PM with a shiva minyan at 7:30PM, at the home of Aviva and Steve at 351 Highland Avenue in Montclair.
