Mickey Simon, mother of BK member Randi Simon, passed away this afternoon at the age of 92.
Mickey loved her family and the Mets, depending on who was having the better season. She took advantage of any opportunity to spend time with family. She was outspoken and opinionated, and livened up any gathering.
After eloping, Leo and Mickey raised their family in the Bronx before retiring to Concordia in Monroe Township, NJ for 20 years. She spent the last seven years living at Daughters of Israel in West Orange. Besides Randi and Paul, Mickey is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Joel and Barbara Simon; her daughter Marge Rosen; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Leo and son-in-law Ted.The world will be a quieter and less interesting place without her.
A graveside funeral will be held on Monday Feb. 10th at 11:00 AM at Mount Moriah cemetery in Fairview, New Jersey.
Randi and Paul will be sitting Shiva at their home (308 Grove St, in Montclair) Monday and Tuesday with services at 7:30 PM each evening.
