Volunteer with Habitat on Thursday

Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity in Patterson Be prepared for a great day of helping repair the world (or at least a house in Paterson) together! BK will be working on a Habitat for Humanity house. Everyone age 16 and up is invited to participate.

We will meet at Bnai Keshet at 8am, recite some prayers, and then caravan to Paterson. Take off from work, get a babysitter for the kids, reschedule your lunch date so you can join us for our annual day in Paterson as we help build a house! We will schlep, dig, giggle, and hammer together with folks from other congregations, including First Congregational Church of Montclair. Bring friends and family (16 and older) and a bagged lunch. Questions/RSVP Marian Golan.

Movie Night: Documentary on the Life of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik - The Lonely Man of Faith

Join us to view a documentary on the life Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik, the leading figure of Modern Orthodox Judaism in the 20th century.  The Rav was a Talmudist and philosopher whose influence extended across the greater Jewish community.   As we approach the 22nd anniversary of his death, the documentary ‘Lonely Man of Faith,’ excerpts of which were viewed when we studied some of Rabbi Soloveitichik’s writings a few years back,  will be shown in its entirety (99mins).

Why was it included? Was it an ahead-of-its-time example of using sex to sell, in this case to sell belief in God? Let's read it can see.
