Saturday
9:00A Adult Bet Midrash: In the Torah study of October 31st we will focus on the Binding of Isaac as it may speak to the reality of live in Israel today. Israel as a society needs to protect the values it holds as its beacon. If Judaism is to remain the prophetic voice of Israel it must sound the call from the week's portion "all the nations of the earth shall enjoy blessing through your seed" (Genesis 22; 18 ) in light of the creation of "Adam Betsalmenu – humanity in the image of the holy" (Genesis 1;26). Egalitarian, democratic and inclusive Judaism is needed in Israel now more than ever to guide and motivate us in these trying times.
Rabbi Ben-Chorin will also be giving the devar.
