Going to College with Strong Convictions and an Open Mind

Saturday, February 4, 2017 8 Sh'vat 5777

7:00 PM - 9:00 PMA free and open program at Bnai Keshet for 10th-12th grades

Whether discussing national politics or issues in Israel, we often find ourselves in positions that can be polarizing. When we can meet on common ground and engage in constructive dialogue that progress is made and peace can be found.

Come to a teen-only, pre-college event on Saturday, February 4th at 7pm and learn how to:

  • have strong disagreements and still be friends
  • have nuanced conversations instead of shouting matches
  • be a better listener AND a better advocate of your own views
  • not demonize those who hold differing political or cultural values
  • find shared human purposes with others that transcends differences
  • have arguments "for the sake of Heaven" - a core Jewish value!
This event is not going to be about what to think, but rather how to think. You'll get to eat, schmooze with friends (old and new) and ask questions of yourself about who you are as a Jew, where you are as a Jew, and how you might be a Jew - at home and away at school.

This workshop is free and open to every teen in the community, so bring a friend!
