A long-time member of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College faculty, which he served as President for a decade, he is currently The Louis and Myra Wiener Professor Emeritus of Contemporary Jewish Civilization and Senior Consultant to Levin-Lieber Program in Jewish Ethics and for Congregational Services, having served previously as Professor of Jewish Civilization and Director of the Center for Jewish Ethics. Widely published -- among other works, he was the editor of the seven volumes of the Kol Haneshamah prayer book series, and wrote a three-volume Guide to Jewish Practice), Rabbi Teutsch has served as teacher and mentor to generations of rabbis, including our own Rabbi Elliott. A passionate Zionist, Rabbi Teutsch has been deeply engaged with Israel on multiple levels for decades, and currently serves as co-chair of the Rabbinic and Cantorial Cabinet of J Street, the Pro-Israel, Pro-Peace advocacy organization.
