Leaders Alon-Lee Green and Sally Abed visiting from Israel, will share with us to build a people's politics that re-imagines a new majority within Israel, and how a grassroots movement of Jewish and Palestinian Israelis has been on the frontline of the fight to raise the minimum wage, for fair housing, and to end the occupation are connected.

Standing Together has been building an alternative vision of Israeli society and politics. With a base of tens of thousands of Israelis - Palestinian and Jewish - it is working to play a key role in upcoming years to build an alternative vision on the grassroots level through local communities, municipalities, campuses, and alternative media.

Alon-Lee Green is one of the most prominent peace and social activists in Israel, and the national co-director at Standing Together. As an adolescent, Alon-Lee was active in organizing Israel's first trade union of waiters who worked for a chain of coffee-shops. He went on to found Israel's first National Waiters Union. In the summer of 2011, he was one of the leaders of Israel's social protest movement and convened some of its largest rallies. Alon Lee worked in the Knesset as a political adviser for five years, involved in the legislative process and building citizens' campaigns that influenced parliamentary decisions.

Sally Abed is an elected member of the national leadership at Standing Together. In recent years, Sally has become a prominent Palestinian voice in Israel that is putting forward the idea of building a new majority in Israeli society, through a Jewish-Arab Partnership that can advance an end to the occupation, peace, equality and social justice. Sally is the Co-host of Groundwork - a mini-series about Palestinians and Jews refusing to accept the status quo and working together for change.
