Yom HaShoah Observance
Sunday, April 23, 2017 • 27 Nisan 5777
8:00 PM - 11:30 PMBnai KeshetIn remembrance of those lost in the Shoah, we will read aloud names of victims beginning at approximately 8PM following the Montclair Clergy Association Yom Hashoah service, being held at Bnai Keshet this year, which begins at 7:00 p.m., and continuing until approximately midnight.
While Jews were persecuted during this time in history, it is important to remember that gays and lesbians, as well as individuals with disabilities, were also targeted. Lists of names representing these groups will also be available for reading aloud. In addition we will have the names of 8,000 Muslim Males killed in 1995 by the Bosnian Serb Government & Army (followed by the Ethnic Cleansing of Screbrenica).
Any and all are welcome and encouraged to honor the memories of those who suffered. Sign up below or just come to pay respects. You may bring names of family members to read aloud, or share personal artifacts.
