Youth Services

We are so delighted, that as part of our Bet Midrash Program, we are able to offer a choice of services each Shabbat during the school year (when class is in session). A small Kiddush will be provided, either immediately after, or just preceding services for all youngsters. Volunteers are needed during services to help in a variety of ways. Please e-mail Rabbi Ariann if you are able to lend a hand!

For Families with Young Children

Tot Shabbat - Saturday mornings, 10:15am, infants-age 5
Tot Shabbat, our baby-through-kindergarten Shabbat morning service happens twelve times over the year:

  • September 14, September 21, and September 28
  • October 5
  • November 16 and November 23
  • December 7 and December 14
  • January 11
  • February 29
  • March 7, March 14, and March 21

The service is led by Rabbi Ariann or by Rabbi Elliott at 10:15am in the Pre-K Room (Green Room, on the main floor of Red Gables). After Tot Shabbat, hang out and schmooze, and feel free to drop your child off in babysitting or bring them to the sanctuary to join us for the second half of the main service.

Come sing, clap, and dance your way into Shabbat! Service is appropriate for young children of all ages and their parents. For 3-5 year-olds, parents can drop their child off at our Pre-K Holiday Workshops while they enjoy the main service, then join their child for Tot Shabbat at 11:30. Check the calendar or call the office to confirm dates. Services are led by one of our rabbis and our songleader, Lincoln Richman. Tot Shabbat is scheduled on dates with a Pre-K Holiday Workshop.

PJ Havdalah - Saturday evenings, ages infant to 2nd grade, 4:30 - 6:30pm
Please also join us for PJ Havdalah programs throughout the year. We will sing songs to say good-bye to Shabbat, enjoy a meal together, and do a quick Havdalah service before saying farewell. Feel free to come in PJs!

Five Saturdays, 5:00-6:30pm: October 26, January 25, February 22, March 28, and May 9. Please come for one or all. Register here.

Youth Services

Services are offered each Shabbat morning as part of Youth Bet Midrash. We offer a variety of age-appropriate and joyful opportunities to sing, pray, and experience Torah for all students in our Bet Midrash. Students take on greater leadership roles in the services as they grow older, preparing them to be adult participants and leaders in the Jewish community. All services are led by one of our rabbis and/or our song leader, Lincoln Richman.
