When Britain declared war on Germany on September 3rd, 1939, six-year-old Cynthia Ehrenkrantz's idyllic childhood changed abruptly as her parents made every effort to keep her safe from Hitler's air raids.. Her book describes the six years of Word War 2 from a child's point of view: evacuation, rationing, the London Blitz, V-1 rocket attacks, and many more wartime experiences are vividly depicted in Seeking Shelter, her debut memoir.
