COMMUNITY SIMCHAT TORAH ON CHURCH STREET

Bnai Keshet, Temple Ner Tamid, and Congregation Shomrei Emunah will once again come together for a community Simchat Torah celebration on Church Street. The evening begins at 6pm with children’s programming and music. Then, at 6:45pm, adult programming will begin including dancing, singing, and a brief service. Come celebrate with the whole greater Montclair Jewish community! More information.

If there is inclement weather, we will celebrate at Congregation Shomrei Emunah, 67 Park Street, Montclair.

YOM KIPPUR FOOD DRIVE

We're getting ready for our annual high holiday food drive! This is a major effort that will help to stock BK's own Little Free Pantry (LFP).

When you attend services on Yom Kippur, bring a bag of shelf-stable groceries with you, and our team of volunteers will bring the bags back to BK. (Think pasta, grains, beans, canned veggies, canned proteins. No glass containers.)

Throughout the year, please consider bringing a few items whenever you can and leaving them in the bin by the front office.

Another option is to make a financial donation to the food drive, or sponsor an online order of non-perishable goods to be delivered to BK.

If you have questions or want to be more involved in the LFP, email Elizabeth Weisholtz.

PARTICIPATE & VOLUNTEER

Join the BK Singers for High Holy Days (& Beyond)
All singers needed!!!

We are learning several new pieces to share with the congregation over the High Holidays. We'll aslo be singing Levandowski's Kol Nidre ( the tune we're all familiar with) for Erev Yom Kippur and need ALL four vocal parts.

Rehearsals are next Thursday, September 18th, and the following Thursday, September 25 - from 7:00pm - 8:00pm at BK.

We also meet throughout the year, learning new melodies for Kabbalat Shabbat and Shabbat morning - we'd love new singers or instrumentalists!

English Readers needed
We are seeking volunteers to do English readings at services. If you would like to participate in High Holy Day Services by reading an English prayer or passage, please email Rabbi Ariann.

Offer a Creative Avodah on Yom Kippur
Share a poem, song, dance, meditation, or other service of the heart during our Creative Avodah service around 2:00pm on Yom Kippur, October 2nd. Sign up here, and in the comments tell us what you would like to do - sing, dance, chant, read poetry, etc.

The estimated actual cost (including space rental) is $180 per person, but every donation helps defray costs. Please donate if you are able.
Thank you.

This fund allows us to maintain an open door policy.

By checking "yes" you will be added to our mailing list for our weekly email newsletter and notices about other BK events.
